Ariel Atom 500 - Street Legal Space Shuttle

ariel_atom_500_v8.jpg

The Ariel Atom 500, is a V8-powered mini-space shuttle that pulls out figures of over 1,000 bhp per tonne. This from a 2.4-litre V8, which is perhaps paying homage to current Formula One rules. It is supercharged and revs to 10,000 rpm.

With over 500 hp in a 500 kg package the Atom 500 will boast one of the highest power to weight ratios ever for a production car. The Atom will have over 1000bhp per tonne (compared to a Bugatti Veyron’s 521bhp per tonne tonne) and will be built in limited numbers.

Happy Canada Day and 4th of July - Drive Safe!!! [Warning: Might shock some viewers]

With important long weekend holidays in both Canada and the US coming up, spirits will be high and many will be in party-mode. Although this video does not have any connection with any holidays or drinking and driving it serves as a sober reminder to everyone to exercise common sense and plenty of caution when driving on today’s busy roads.

This clip of an accident appears to be from Asia somewhere. There is no other background info available. Warning: Might shock some viewers

Steve Saleen Retiring… I’ve heard that before from Jay-Z

saleen-banner-retire.jpg
Its hard to keep any real master from performing beautiful feats of destiny on whatever they call their canvas. Did you really think that Jay-Z would stay retired for ever? No, I wasn’t fooled either. Call it a legitimate stealth break from your work. A well deserved one in each of these two masterful domains. However nothing can ever hold back their DNA’s screams to continue enjoying what they have been creating for years.

According to Saleen.com on May 14th, 2007, Mr. Saleen, founder and vice chairman of the board at Saleen Inc., Steve Saleen has announced his official retirement from the company’s executive team.

Steve said “I have a vested interest in the company’s future and intend to remain involved. I take great pride in knowing I have assembled a team of the most talented and innovative professionals in the industry. Each person at Saleen has helped me achieve my dream and will help to continue my legacy in the generation of Saleen products and services.”

What does this all exactly translate to?

It just means he wants less of the corporate responsibility (mainly policies and corporate governance) and more of enjoying life and injecting his infuence into the product design and development activites as well as its branding strategies and promotional efforts.

Not only is Mr. Saleen a true hardcore automotive visionary, but his tenacity to succeed, coupled with meticulous business skills and a realized dream completely yields Steve Saleen to be considered one of the greatest specialty automobile manufacturers in the world.

If you have a dream, follow it hard, to the end of your own sanity, only then will the universe allow you to completely realize your dream. I can guarantee you if you asked either of these two fine gentlemen what they attribute their success to, you would get the answer “follow your dreams and listen to your instincts”.

Just like Jay-Z, Dr. Dre and Donald Trump, (to name a few) this guy is a Total Business Pimp!! (I mean that in the most complimentary way possible!)

Cheers

The 612 was presented to British Police as a pace car (of sort) to accompany ...

ferrari.jpg

Its pretty awesome to think that as a police officer in England you might have the opportunity to drive a specially prepared Ferrari 612 on your daily traffic patrol routine! Thats right folks, Scotland Yard has just been handed the keys to a brand spanking new ‘Blu Tour de France’ Ferrari 612 Scaglietti.

relay.jpg

The 612 was presented to British Police as a pace car (of sort) to accompany the 1500 miles of the UK leg of Ferrari’s 60th Anniversay Relay, a worldwide tour that has already been through the Middle East, Far East, North America, Parts of Europe and arrives today in the UK.

The 612 will be driven by officers from 5 law enforcement agencies across the UK passing through the British Isles from Belfast to Silverstone making appearances in Edinburgh, Manchester, Birmingham and London. All drivers are volunteers and are driving in their free time. I am pretty sure that nobody had any complaints about not

This version of the 612 is packed with all the toys you would imagine a ‘Limited Edition British Police 007 style’ car should have including rocket launchers, 20mm M61 Vulcan and flame throwers as well as the Ferrari GTS Handling package (why is this even an option on the 612 ?).

Just like the Lamborghini LP640 that was loaned to them back in November for the MPH ‘06 show in Birmingham, this 612 isn’t for keeps.
